Meet Myla Sugg! She has been with UHS for over a year and is the Supervisor for Payroll and AP Support Services. Myla chose to work at UHS because of its strong reputation in the healthcare industry and the opportunity to grow within a supportive and dynamic work environment. “I wanted to be a part of a team that values both professional development and making a meaningful impact,” Myla shared. She says the most rewarding part of the job is playing the role in the transition from Lawson to Workday. “Being part of such a major system upgrade is exciting because it allows me to contribute to process improvements and help make things more efficient for our team,” she explained. Say hello to Madeline Pearce! ?? Madeline is an Application Analyst in the IS Department, specifically on the Business Integration team. She started her career with UHS as an intern. During her summer internship, she enjoyed the weekly lunch-and-learns and saw it as a great opportunity to meet interns from different teams and learn about their work. “With a company as large as UHS, trying to navigate the different responsibilities of those around you is difficult. Having different leaders take time each week to explain their teams’ responsibilities was super helpful. I think it is something that helped me transition into my role now, especially since I have found myself working with some of those teams on current projects,” Madeline shared. She chose to work at UHS because of how comfortable she felt during the interview process and the free-flowing conversations during her interview. “They felt more like a back-and-forth discussion than an interview. My first interview was with Alyson Eldon who pushed me to go for another internship position after learning what I was interested in. I felt heard during the process and ended up accepting the position she suggested and had a great time learning from my mentor Shawn Lewis,” she explained. Madeline finds the relationships she has created with her coworkers the most rewarding part of the job. “It is a great feeling to have people you look forward to seeing at work. When I accepted my full-time position, it meant moving away from the team. I held my internship with (a whole building away) but soon enough I made new friendships. Now no matter what building I am in, I know I can find a friendly face,” she said. What advice would she give to a future intern? Ask one million and one questions! Being new to the corporate world can offer a fresh perspective on the way people currently think. Your question could lead to the next big idea. Fun fact!
