Today’s Tip ... Nail Your Answer to “Why Should We Hire You?” When an interviewer asks, “Why should we hire you?” your answer shouldn’t be about why you want the job—it should highlight why they need you. To stand out as the ideal hire, show your interviewer you understand their goals. Here’s how. Focus on the match. Speak directly to their needs. For example, “Your commitment to healthcare innovation excites me, and my experience in AI and health tech can help drive that mission.” Highlight what makes you unique. Be specific: “I bring hands-on project management and cross-functional leadership experience, which I know is crucial to your team.” Paint a vision. Go beyond skills and imagine yourself in the role: “With my data analytics background, I see myself delivering insights that shape strategic decisions.” Connect on culture. Show authentic alignment with their values. “I love how you highlight top performers—it shows you value your team, and I thrive in that environment.” Use their words. Pick up on key points from the interview and connect: “I know you’re looking for someone with enterprise-level experience; I’ve managed a $30M book of business.” Keep it sharp. Attruby is approved by FDA to reduce cardiovascular death and cardiovascular-related hospitalization in ATTR-CM patients FDA has cleared acoramidis (Attruby—BridgeBio Pharma) — the first and only approved product to achieve near-complete stabilization of transthyretin (TTR), a transport protein of thyroxine and vitamin A. Destabilization of the native TTR tetramer is implicated in transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM), but Attruby is credited with preserving TTR's native function. Regulatory approval was underpinned by results from the ATTRibute-CM Phase III trial, which randomized patients to receive Attruby or placebo for 30 months. The data showed that the study drug reduced death for any reason and cardiovascular-related hospitalization in as early as 3 months of treatment. "The need for more treatment options for patients living with ATTR-CM is crucial to achieving the goal of better outcomes and improved quality of life," said Muriel Finkel, president of Amyloidosis Support Groups. FDA Finds Widely Prescribed Asthma Drug Linked To Serious Mental Health Problems For Some Patients Reuters?(11/22,?Levine,?Dang) reported, “U.S. government researchers have found that a widely prescribed asthma drug originally sold by Merck & Co may be linked to serious mental health problems for some patients, according to a scientific presentation.” The investigators “found that the drug, sold under the brand name Singulair and generically as montelukast, attaches to multiple brain receptors critical to psychiatric functioning.” In 2020, the FDA added “a ‘black box’ warning to the montelukast prescribing label, flagging serious mental health risks like suicidal thinking or actions.” The FDA “also convened a group of internal experts around the same time to look into why the drug might trigger neuropsychiatric side effects.” The group’s findings “were presented to a limited audience at the American College of Toxicology meeting” on Wednesday. https://lnkd.in/dFeZGamf
