FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 14, 2024 US Patriot Chamber of Commerce Attention Service Members affected by Hurricanes Milton or Helene: All military service members impacted by the hurricane (active, guard, or reserves, and retirees) can apply for Army Emergency Relief (AER). This is different than FEMA assistance. Army Emergency Relief (AER) has expanded eligibility for ARNG SMs affected by Hurricane Milton. These individuals are normally NOT eligible for AER assistance. Assistance may be provided up to $600 as a Grant under Blanket Authority to eligible members who have been impacted by Hurricane Milton. Assistance may be considered for basic essential needs (Temporary Lodging, Food and Fuel). The request must be for a “valid need” associated with the disaster. This guidance will remain in effect until 25 October 2024. The AER application forms are available on the AER website at https://lnkd.in/eqvTYWF2 under the “Forms and Resources”. The easiest way is to call the Red Cross number for it at: (877) 272-7337 Tell them you are applying for Army Emergency Relief You will need a computer to upload a picture of your CAC (front and back), your drivers license, and a LES. You will answer some questions and then be sent an email to upload all these documents. On the AER form 101 in block 16 select “direct access” so you’ll only need to fill out and sign through block 21. Once you have uploaded everything call them back and let them verify your info. Here’s the takeaway: when reaching out to recruiters, hiring managers, HR reps, or executives, take a moment to see when they were last active on LinkedIn. You might be surprised. The key? Engage with people who are active! Connect, like, comment, and share their content. To check someone's LinkedIn activity, follow these steps: ? Go to their profile: Search for the person’s name using LinkedIn's search bar and navigate to their profile. ? Scroll down to the Activity section: Once on their profile, scroll down until you reach the “Activity” section. This section shows their recent interactions on LinkedIn, including posts they've shared, comments they've made, and posts they've liked. ? Click "See all activity": If you want to view more than just the most recent activities, click the “See all activity” link in that section. ?
