关于我们
JOBE CORRAL ARCHITECTS specializes in highly crafted and well-built residential structures, using authentic materials. We also selectively design civic and commercial spaces. In all cases, our approach is rooted in the beauty of the site and in the experience of place. Consideration of the individual moments and experiences of daily life is a theme in our design approach that brings a warmth and texture to our projects. We work with the knowledge that a great project springs from a deep understanding of the site, a respectful and transparent relationship with our clients, and a full comprehension of the program. Paying close attention to these factors informs our process and allows us to create a unique concept and spirit for every project. Construction quality is paramount in every Jobe Corral project, and a strong contractor-team collaboration is integral to the overall process – designing structures that are built to last. Our work can be found in both urban and rural settings, from the acclaimed Modern Rammed-Earth House in the Texas Hill Country, to the complete renovation of an historic 19th century headmaster’s home overlooking Austin, and a prestigious Trail Foundation project along the Butler Trail on Lady Bird Lake in Austin. Designing for the site, for the light, and for how our clients actually live in and use a space are all defining aspects of the firm. Our work resonates with clients for whom the experience of place is essential. Regardless of project size or ambition, we are also a valuable resource early in site selection and the project-feasibility process. Jobe Corral Architects is 100% women-owned-and-operated and based in central Austin.

"There was an interesting design language from this old house and this new, very modern addition that kind of connected with it. And then there's this blurring where the old and the new happened." - Jonathan Moody, The American Institute of Architects (AIA) about the Solarium renovation. 10 years featured project: Festival Beach As 2024 marks 10 years of innovative architecture and interior design at Jobe Corral Architects, we are revisiting 10 of our favorite projects. Festival Beach Festival Beach is a quiet place within the Austin parks and waterways system that is also one of the most beautiful. Dotted with sculptural, mature trees and breathtaking watery vistas, it is a haven for gathering. Though runners, paddlers and rowers know about this treasure, it has been the backyard playground of the East Cesar Chavez neighborhood for generations. The cultural memories of long-time locals are woven into the history of Festival Beach and in the fabric of its landscape. Commissioned by The Trail Foundation and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, this structure becomes more than what the program dictates. The sculptural pavilion is a marker in the landscape, a place for shade and a unique structure that belongs to the neighborhood. An homage to its predecessor, this new restroom building uses familiar materials like concrete, steel and terra cotta tile in an unexpected way that mimics the nearby water and park trees. A forest of columns supports two tiled waves of blue to provide much needed shelter from the sun, and ventilation to this open-air building. As 2024 marks 10 years of innovative architecture and interior design at Jobe Corral Architects, we are revisiting 10 of our favorite projects. Las Casitas These play structures were designed to blend seamlessly with the trees during the day, then transform into glowing lanterns at night. Each structure, designed for one of two siblings, is painted inside with colors chosen by its inhabitant. The exterior cedar cladding remains unfinished, allowing it to weather naturally and recede into the surrounding woods. Imaginative play is an important part of a child's development. We designed these "houses" to be open-ended, allowing children to use their imagination and play with them in various ways. A mix of more standard physical play elements, like swings and slides, is combined with challenging elevation changes and opportunities for discovery as light and shadow interact with the structures. As 2024 marks 10 years of innovative architecture and interior design at Jobe Corral Architects, we are revisiting 10 of our favorite projects. The Solarium Located in Austin, Texas, the Solarium is a modern addition to a historic craftsman house. This light-filled structure transforms the existing bungalow while complementing its vernacular. Built of steel, glass and board-formed concrete, the room opens up entirely, with landscape serving as a backdrop to the glass walls. The Solarium's companion structures are a small garden bathroom under the stair to a guest apartment and the main interior bathroom remodel. Glowing frosted glass, steel and walnut details provide a conversation between the exterior stair bath and Solarium structures while the interior bathroom emulates the Solarium's qualities of light and airiness. The modern structures make themselves distinct from the craftsman home while following the same rules of attention to detail and understanding of the craftsman required to build them.
