Attention Employees: Understanding Annual Leave Entitlement in UAE as per Labor Law #Annual Leave Entitlement: - Full-time employees enjoy 30 calendar days of leave per year after completing one year of service. - Employees with at least six months but less than a year of service are entitled to 2 days per month. - Part-time employees receive leave based on hours worked. #Calculation of Annual Leave Payment: - Annual leave payment includes the employee's basic salary and housing allowance, if applicable. - Transportation and food allowances are excluded unless specified in the contract. - Formula: Annual Leave Pay = (Basic Salary + Housing Allowance / 30) × No. of Leave Days #Annual Leave Encashment: - When leave is not taken and is either carried forward or encashed upon resignation/termination, payment is based on the basic salary. - The calculation excludes the housing allowance. - Encashment Example (Basic Salary Only): Basic Salary: AED 10,000, Unused Leave: 10 days - Calculation: (10,000 / 30) × 10 = AED 3,333.33 Additional Points to Note: - Public Holidays falling within leave periods are considered part of the annual leave. - Leave pay should be disbursed before the leave commences. - Upon resignation or termination, unused leave is compensated as part of the final settlement (Article 29 of UAE Labour Law).
