This Veterans Day, let's celebrate the men and women who have served this country. On this special day we'd like to recognize our founder, James M. Wilson, who was one of the original members of the American Legion Joseph B. Westnedge Post 36. He was elected as the first commander of the Post, and he served as commander for two terms. James enlisted in the Michigan National Guard in April 1912, serving with Co. D, 32nd Michigan Infantry. When the 32nd “Red Arrow” Division was organized, James joined the Army and was commissioned Second Lieutenant on October 31, 1917, and served during World War I as Captain. After a distinguished military career, James started an insurance agency, which later evolved into James M. Wilson Agency, Inc. and eventually JM Wilson Corporation. Today, we extend our deepest gratitude to all veterans for their sacrifice and commitment to protecting our freedoms. Thank you for inspiring us every day. #VeteransDay
