This past Tuesday, the JMU Blockchain Club hosted an incredible event called "The Money in Crypto??" featuring 4 blockchain and crypto professionals! With 50+ members in attendance, we had a rapid-fire Q&A session, covering a wide range of topics from Bitcoin mining to financial advising. Our panelists, Robin Luu, Amber Orr, Adam Blumberg, and Marcus Griffin, shared insights on the current state of the industry, emerging trends, and their personal experiences. ?? From 52 Student Sign-Ups in 2023 to 162 and Growing in 2024: How We 3x’d Our Blockchain Club Interest Applications By Doing Less Work The key was strategy. Instead of scattering our marketing efforts across multiple platforms, we focused all of our attention on one major event: JMU's Annual Student Organization Night. Branding is everything, our leadership team took the time to create a poster that truly reflected who we are—students who work hard, think differently, and have a fun time doing what we do. Our cardboard color, messy painted-on letters, and minimal pictures, our poster stood out from the crowd. Our form of “branding” encouraged interaction between students and our exec members rather than providing all of the information upfront. For some healthy contrast, we were the only ones to show up in business professional attire- outshining everyone else. Embrace change everyone, and be different. The Madison Consulting Club, in collaboration with AIS, FMA, and JMU Blockchain, is excited to announce a collaborative event - a “Consulting Recruiter Showcase” on Tuesday, April 9th at 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM in the Hartman Hall Forum! In this career-fair-style event, we will be hosting campus recruiters and consulting practitioners from a variety of consulting firms, including Ernst & Young, KPMG, Deloitte, CGI, RSM, and more. Attend to explore the diverse opportunities these companies offer for both undergraduates and incoming graduates. Light snacks will be provided, and attendance is open to all JMU students and staff!

Exciting ideas about what the world could be with Web3 are always intriguing, but witnessing future possibilities materialize before your eyes adds a whole new dimension. Yesterday, Alexander Mann shared his point of view and journey scaling his blockchain-driven startup, Smart Grow Agri-Tech, at our club's meeting. The startup's product, Vineyard Vantage, leverages blockchain technology to aggregate vast amounts of raw data from personal weather stations, storing it securely on the BSV Blockchain. Joined by Susquehanna Blockchain during the presentation, we delved deeper into discussions about the potential of this startup. It was evident that Vineyard Vantage is poised for success and can expand nationally. It's fascinating to witness such innovation originating from our own Shenandoah Valley. #blockchain #godukes
