MAKING A LASTING IMPACT THROUGH LEADERSHIP & SERVICE: It was an honor to serve as the keynote speaker at the 25th Anniversary Brunch. Thanks for allowing me to share my Junior League journey to make a lasting impact through leadership and service. The volunteer opportunities to strive to eliminate domestice violence changed me as a leader. As always, I encourage you to get involved in causes you’re passionate about. You can learn a lot about leaders through volunteering together. I have made lifelong friends in the league that I will cherish forever. Blake Woolsey did a phenomenal job sharing the history of JLNWA. I was so impressed how driven and persistent the women were twenty-five years ago to make a positive impact in NWA. I am so proud of the many accomplishments over the years… - Domestice Violence Campaign including Little Black Dress & Purple for a Purpose - Storytime at EOA Children’s House - Touch A Truck - Winter Dreams Tour of Homes and many more! Today we kicked off our Little Black Dress Campaign! Each October, the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas participates in the “Little Black Dress Initiative” to bring awareness to domestic violence and symbolize just some of the struggles survivors and family members in this situation may have. Participants raise awareness around the limits that domestic violence can play on resources, options, and opportunities for employment; and the work that JLNWA is doing to help end the cycle of domestic violence by wearing the same black dress or outfit all week long. We invite you to join us this week!
