The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri (JLKCMO) is an organization of women that cultivate leaders who collectively address the critical needs in our community - A legacy of leadership since 1914! We accomplish our mission by: Providing a motivating and supportive environment that stimulates members. Increasing our impact in the Kansas City community by effectively coordinating our resources with community needs. Maintaining financial stability through our endowed funds and fundraising events. Providing comprehensive training opportunities to develop volunteers to better serve the community. Communicating and promoting the organization’s mission and historical significance to our membership and the community. The Junior League reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins, who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism. Our League currently numbers more than 1,400 strong. We are women who work full-time, part-time and in the home; single women, married women and mothers. We are women who share diverse interests and backgrounds as well as a desire to improve our community through volunteer action and grant-making. Since 1914, our League has been associated with more than 350 community agencies and organizations. Since the League’s inception, our members have donated more than $17.6 million and over 2.4 million hours of volunteer time. League members research areas of need in the Kansas City area and educate the membership and the community about those issues. Currently, our focus is Women and Children.

?? Member Monday Spotlight: Meet Elaine! ?? Elaine is an Assistant Professor at Johnson County Community College, where she brings her passion for statistics and mathematics to life. Before this, she was a Lecturer at the University of Michigan, contributing to the teaching team of Stats 250, UM’s largest course. ??? Elaine has been teaching since 2011 and joined the Junior League in 2012, making an impact in four different Leagues, including San Angelo, Ann Arbor, Birmingham, and now, Kansas City! ?? Since transferring to JLKC in 2022, she’s served as Sip & Support Step-Up Co-Chair, Co-Chair, and is currently the Member At Large for the Fund Development Council. Her favorite placements have always been in fundraising—not just because she loves numbers, but because she understands the vital role it plays in supporting nonprofits like JLKC. ?? Originally from New Braunfels, Texas, Elaine enjoys traveling, crossword puzzles, watching college football, and spending time with her husband and cat. ?????? We had a fantastic training session on Basic CPR/AED with the Overland Park Fire Department! It was not only educational but also essential for our life skills. Together, we practiced vital techniques that could help save lives in emergencies. Thank you to the firefighters for their expertise and guidance!
?? Member Monday: Meet Maren Johnson! ?? Maren is a dedicated Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Saint Ann Young Child Center and a lifelong learner inspired by Mr. Rogers' motto, "life is for service." Since joining the League in 2022 as a Transfer from Miami, Florida, Maren has enjoyed connecting with League members and learning more about the history of JLKC. Combining her teaching skills with her passion for helping others, Maren has been an active contributor to events like the C3KC conference. She loves collaborating with fellow C3KC members, advisors, and local thought-leaders to bring corporate, civic, and non-profit organizations together to address Kansas City's current needs. ??????
