Keller Foundation are teaming up to make an even stronger impact in our community, particularly serving Transitional Age Youth aging out of the Foster Care System. HeadsUp Fox Cities and Pillars, Inc. are reintroducing a transitional housing program, previously known as the Ascend Program. This new initiative will combine HeadsUp personalized path case management program with stable housing, a managed property of Pillars, Inc. Housing remains the most urgent challenge for HeadsUp Fox Cities participants. This solution offers comprehensive, wrap-around support for young adults who have experienced personal and systemic trauma. While the program will gradually transition to full operations in 2025, we are already looking forward to narrowing the gap on this critical need in our community.

As we enter October, we are grateful to know that the impending winter will have little impact on those clients served by Day By Day Warming Shelter ~ Oshkosh, Wisconsin celebrating another year of 365-day shelter and support. This model has transitioned from only providing emergency shelter services, to transitioning clients to a stable future. In 2024, Day by Day successfully transitioned 33 guests to permanent housing and 30 to obtain and maintain employment. Empowering guests toward a more stable future has provided hope beyond the doors of Day by Day. In honor of National Diaper Awareness Week, we were able to attend Jake's Network of Hope's open house at their new location, Kimberly-Clark Eastern Wisconsin Diaper Bank in partnership with the United Way Fox Cities. Moving from their old location to coworking in this space with VPI, Inc. has allowed Jake's to focus less on overhead costs, and more on fulfilling the diaper need that faces 47% of families. This year alone, they have distributed over 1 million products throughout 14 counties, helping keep babies dry, clean, happy, and healthy! ? ?????????? ?????????????????? ? School is back in session and the Backpack Assistance Program at St. Joseph Food Program is busier than ever. These backpacks provide identified students with free food for the weekend throughout 9 school districts. During the 2023/2024 school year, over 40,000 backpacks were distributed across 68 schools. We are so grateful to the team at St. Joseph Food Program and their volunteers, who work each week impacting the next generation of our community with this program.

? ?????????? ?????????????????? ? September is National Recovery Month, where we support treatment & recovery services, the recovery community, and service providers who make recovery possible. Between 2023 and 2024, Winnebago County the most common requests for mental health assistance in Winnebago County from 211 information line were for substance abuse and addiction, making up 43.9% (206 requests). In comparison, Solutions Recovery, Inc. 24/7 Recovery Hotline answered nearly 1000 calls per month. This data reflects a growing epidemic. A 2021 Wisconsin Department of Health Services report found that 7.66% of Wisconsin residents suffer from a substance use disorder, higher than the national average. Despite the vast need, less than 10% of the 41.1 million Americans requiring substance use treatment receive it, highlighting the stigma and lack of services surrounding substance use disorders. We are proud to have local partners, like Solutions Recovery, working to impact our neighbors right here in Northeast Wisconsin.
