In a recent article published in Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Soona Park (University of North Texas), Jianan Lee and Xinran Lehto (Purdue University) identified the community-centered design elements that are most favored for integration into hotel lobbies, and exposed how those elements contribute to cultivating a sense of place and community among hotel guests Through applying a choice-based conjoint analysis, the research team found: ?? ?? #JHTR study verifies the significance of work-life balance among Gen Z hospitality employees ?? In a recent article published in Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Hao (Mira) Shi (Suzhou Vocational University), Xiaolin Shi, Catherine Cheung (School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University) & Susan Gordon (Purdue University) examined the role of work-personal conflict in Gen Z hospitality employees’ daily lives Drawing on the daily diary data shared by 91 Gen Z Chinese hotel employees, the research team found: ?? Work-to-personal and personal-to-work conflict at the within-person level increases turnover intention via emotional exhaustion ?? Workplace fun at the within-person level and person–job fit at the between-person level moderate the relationship between work-to-personal conflict and emotional exhaustion ?? In a recent article published in Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Xiaodan Mao-Clark, (University of Hawaii at Manoa), Yoon Koh, Agnes DeFranco and Ki-Joon Back (University of Houston) unveiled the relationship between macroeconomic policies and restaurant crowdfunding startup activities through the prism of agency theory Through analyzing all restaurant projects on Kickstarter.com in the United States during the 2014-2019 period, the research team found that: ?? Free market policies (for incentive alignment) positively impact restaurant startup activities ?? Social safety-net spending (for risk-aversion mitigation) positively influences restaurant startup activities ??? An interaction between free market policies and social safety-net spending exists ??
