March marks our anniversary month, and so the timing was just right! ?? Project Highlight: Control Panel Upgrade ? For this project, we replaced an aging control panel and upgraded the hardware components to enhance performance and reliability. Given the washdown-rated environment, we installed a Saginaw NEMA 4X stainless steel panel to ensure durability and compliance. One of the key challenges? The existing panel had no electrical schematics. To solve this, our electrical designer visited the site, gathered all necessary data, and meticulously recreated a complete set of schematics using AutoCAD Electrical. The upgraded panel features Allen Bradley PowerFlex 525 Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and an Allen Bradley HMI, seamlessly mounted in a Saginaw NEMA 4X stainless steel console for optimal functionality. ?? Seamless Installation & Support Over a weekend, our team at J+H efficiently replaced the existing panel, re-terminated all wiring, and ensured a smooth transition. To wrap up the project, we provided onsite startup support and delivered a full set of updated electrical schematics for future reference. Keynote speaker Dr. Kevin Fleming, author of Redefining the Goal, engaged attendees with insights on aligning education with workforce demands to better prepare students for successful careers. "The summit was a great opportunity to showcase how Fort Smith Public Schools connects students to careers through early career learning opportunities, business and industry partnerships, and comprehensive career and technical education programs," said Dr. Gary Udouj, Director of Career Education and District Innovation. Industry professionals emphasized the return on investment (ROI) of student apprenticeships, highlighting the value of hands-on learning experiences. Attendees also toured the Paxton/Patterson Career Readiness labs at Chaffin Middle School, where they saw firsthand how immersive learning environments equip students with essential technical skills. Stephanie Tindall from International Paper, a panelist in the School and Industry Partnerships discussion, underscored the importance of collaboration between industry and education. "The Workforce Pipeline Summit exemplifies how both sectors must invest time and resources to develop the next generation of workers. University of Arkansas Fort Smith Receives $4 Million Workforce Development Grant. J+H Automation Solutions is part of an Advisory Committee to UAFS College of Business and Industry. J+H and other regional companies, many of which are J+H customers, have been working with UAFS on development of Advanced Manufacturing degree programs. J+H Automation Solutions would like to congratulate UAFS and remains involved as a local automation company helping support advanced manufacturing.
