Last week at our all-staff meeting, we announced the winner of the JFS Mensch Award. Congrats to this year's winner, Marsha Atkison! Marsha is the receptionist at our Wilmington location and has been with JFS for 27 years! Congrats as well to our other two Mensch Award finalists, Kaylah Dessausure and Kate Gruber! What is a mensch? The word means “person” in Yiddish, the language once dominant among Jews in central and eastern Europe. A mensch is someone who always acts with integrity, honor, and humility; and someone who is always kind and considerate. Nominations for the JFS Mensch Award were submitted by fellow staff members.
