Eighty-six years ago, on November 9, 1938, Kristallnacht, the "Night of Broken Glass," shattered Jewish communities across Nazi Germany and Austria, leaving synagogues, businesses, and homes destroyed and countless lives forever altered. This night marked a dark turning point, igniting a wave of violence and hatred that history will never forget. Yet, even decades later, antisemitism and hate still persist. As we remember Kristallnacht, let us remember that the fight is not over and that we must continue to stand together against hate and intolerance, working toward a future defined by unity, respect, and understanding. Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey stands strongly with the Jewish community of Bergenfield following last night’s antisemitic and hate-filled protests targeting Jews and Israelis in a residential neighborhood. Every individual should feel safe gathering in their own home and be free from harassment, intimidation, and chants of intifada which is nothing more than a call for violence against Jews. There should be no place for hate in our towns. We call upon community leaders and law enforcement to protect the innocent civilians being targeted solely because of their Jewish identity.

Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey is horrified and outraged at the hate-filled antisemitic attacks in Amsterdam, in which anti-Israel mobs terrorized and beat Israelis and Jews in the streets after a soccer match featuring Maccabi Tel-Aviv. This modern-day pogrom, just two days before the anniversary of Kristallnacht, should make it clear that the entire world must act now to condemn this hate-filled assault. We call on the Dutch authorities to protect its Jewish citizens and visitors and to prosecute those responsible to the fullest extent of the law. We are in close contact with our partners in Israel and The Jewish Agency for Israel as we continue our commitment to the security of Jewish communities around the world. An Emergency Briefing on Amsterdam Situation TODAY at 12 PM EST Join us for a special 15-minute briefing today at 12:00 pm ET on the developing situation in Amsterdam. Our partners at The Jewish Agency for Israel will provide up-to-date information on the ground and share an overview of our collective support to ensure the security of the Jewish community in Amsterdam. We hope you can join us for this important update. Register below https://lnkd.in/ezt2nEBJ
