One of the spaces we are most excited about in our new terminal building is our future Customs Hall, where travelers landing from overseas will clear passport control. Located on the top floor of our building, the expansive space features a unique ceiling design soaring up to 60 feet high and lined with 9,500 square feet of skylights. Flooded with natural light, the hall will offer a refreshingly different experience from how most international passengers arrive today in the U.S. — in a low-ceilinged, congested and dimly lit room. Our welcoming space will also house unique art features in the hall's beams and clerestory.?More details about our Customs Hall will be available in the future but for now, we look forward to welcoming passengers to the world's global city — with the style that New York has long deserved. On this Veterans Day, The New Terminal One at JFK honors the brave individuals who have selflessly served our nation including?Hyunwoo?Baek, the founder of Veterans Electrical Supply Incorporated, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business?(SDVOB) based in Richmond Hill in Queens, NY. Hyunwoo?served in the United States Army National Guard for six years, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant, and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008. After leaving the military, he started his business in 2012, building on his electrical experience. With encouragement from the New York State Office of General Services, he provided electrical materials for contractors around the region and now provides materials and supplies for several contractors working on the New Terminal One at JFK. We salute?Hyunwoo?for his dedication and thank him for his service to our country.?#HonorOurVeterans #ANewJFK

As The New Terminal One at JFK continues to take shape, we recently installed curtain wall panels that comprise the cladding around the AirTrain entry and exit portals of our building. Frequent flyers at JFK Airport will notice that the JFK AirTrain travels through our terminal building, passing through an enclosed area that we built to protect the AirTrain from all construction activity. To allow for work to take place on the AirTrain entry and exit portals, train service to the existing Terminal 1 was suspended temporarily. Our teams worked in close partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and other airport stakeholders to ensure that passengers can still get to the existing Terminal 1, with bus bridging, updated signage and additional staff to direct and assist customers. We thank everyone for their patience as we continue building #ANewJFK together.

Congratulations to our team members Andrea P. and Pedro Roa Tortosa, from our Project Management Office led by Ferrovial Construction, for completing the New York City Marathon yesterday. Their resilience and perseverance inspire all of us, as we work together to bring The New Terminal One to life. Andrea and Pedro's endurance reminds us that it is not just about running a race, but finishing the marathon.
