We were pleased to join the Building Trades Employers' Association (BTEA) Board of Governors meeting this week, featuring our CEO Jennifer Daniel Aument as guest speaker in a fireside chat with BTEA President and CEO Elizabeth Crowley. Founded in 1903, the BTEA is New York's largest contractor association, advocating for the industry on safety standards and professional development. Thank you to the BTEA Board for generously sharing your perspectives on issues in the building and construction industry. We look forward to our continued partnership with many of your members as we work together to build The New Terminal One at JFK.

The New Terminal One at JFK's $2.55 Green Bond issuance in 2024 was named Refinance Deal of the Year for an Airport in North America at last week's IJGlobal Awards. Our team, led by Director of Financial Planning, Analysis and Strategy Bryan Rowan, was delighted to accept the award at the ceremony at Gotham Hall in New York City. This marks the second award for our Series 2024 bond issuance — the largest ever municipal bond financing for an airport project — following our win in the Northeast category at the Bond Buyer Deal of the Year awards. Many thanks to our financial sponsors, our public partners at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and New York Transportation Development Corporation, and our 2024 financing team including Bank of America for their support of our successful transaction.

As we develop a world-class terminal for the nation's largest gateway, sustainability and resiliency are core values in our design, development and operations. Electrification is a key part of our sustainability strategy, which was the focus of a presentation by our Chief of Staff Uzoamaka N. Okoye at the Airport Electrification US conference in NYC this week. Uzo shared insights from our electrification initiatives, including the building of an innovative microgrid in partnership with AlphaStruxure and our recent procurement of a centralized fleet of all-electric ground support equipment from TCR. She offered the unique perspective of a developer building a greenfield terminal, alongside other panelists from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Grand Rapids Gerald R. Ford International Airport and Birmingham Airport Authority. Thank you to Global Transmission Report for organizing an informative conference and to all attendees for their interest in the New Terminal One.

"That opportunity allowed me to grow within the airport environment and gave me a front-row seat to learning everything that goes on behind the scenes," she said. Marisa Von Wieding, our Vice President of Operations, was recognized as a Power Woman of Queens by Schneps Media, which celebrates the women who make Queens a thriving and vibrant place to work and live in. For Marisa, being honored alongside many accomplished women - including some of whom she has worked with closely - was an incredible honor. “I love my job, so what is important to me is where we are right now in the middle of the development side and bringing a building to life. Then running it and turning it into a great experience for all of the traveling public," said Marisa of her role at the New Terminal One. Our team was delighted to celebrate Marisa and all the honorees. Congratulations! Learn more about the Power Women of Queens: https://lnkd.in/g-4YS-RR
