关于我们

Serving Vulnerable Populations - Facilitating Community Engagement - Promoting Jewish Life and Learning The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia's mission is to mobilize financial and volunteer resources to address the community's most critical priorities in Greater Philadelphia, in Israel and around the world. Since 1901, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has served as the central philanthropic and volunteer address for Greater Philadelphia’s Jewish community. The Jewish Federation is the one place every community member looking for help or to help can turn. We act as a convener, fundraiser and funder for dozens of local, national, Israeli and overseas Jewish programs that address the Jewish community’s critical priorities. Through a unique partnership of Jewish Federation volunteers, staff and partner organizations, we provide a safety net of social services and strengthen Jewish continuity for tens of thousands of people each year. • Last week, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia's Jewish Community Relations Council, Pastor Carl Day and CULTURE CHANGING CHRISTIANS hosted a New Golden Age Town Hall. It was an incredible evening of honest conversations, tough questions, and real commitments to working together. We know that breaking down barriers and rebuilding trust doesn’t happen in one night. But events like this remind us that we are not alone in this work—we are stronger together. Thank you to everyone who came, who listened, who shared, and who showed up. This is just the start. Let’s keep going. Check out photos from the Town Hall here.

  • The New Golden Age is built on Black-Jewish solidarity—learning from each other’s histories and advocating for each other’s futures. Today, those histories are under attack. Civil rights landmarks at risk: The temporary inclusion of Montgomery’s Freedom Rides Museum on a federal list of properties slated for sale was a stark reminder of how easily history can be neglected. This site, where Black and Jewish Freedom Riders were brutally attacked for challenging segregation, must be preserved—not endangered. Historical truth under siege: False claims downplaying the atrocities of mass murderers like Stalin, Mao and Hitler have gone viral. These distortions are more than misinformation—they fuel extremism and denialism, undermining our ability to confront past injustices and prevent future ones. Dismantling civil rights protections: The closure of thousands of active investigations—including cases addressing antisemitism in public schools—leaves our communities vulnerable. The loss of the Philadelphia Office for Civil Rights, which worked closely with the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, is just one example of how these rollbacks are harming our collective fight for justice. We will not be silent. When Black and Jewish resilience is erased, when our civil rights are threatened and when justice is undermined, we all suffer. We call on leaders, educators, policymakers and all who believe in truth and justice to stand with us. Join us. Speak out. Take action.

  • The importance of Israel education has become increasingly vital, especially given the complexities of the Israel-Hamas War and rampant antisemitism. This week, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia hosts Yirmiyahu Danzig (@that_semite), content creator and digital educator for OpenDor Media's Unpacked for Educators, for a five-day speaking tour across our region. During his tour, Danzig will discuss how to dismantle disinformation being promulgated online, the importance of interfaith work, what it means to be a Jew of Color and the impact of Oct.7 on Israel. • Thank you to everyone who participated in Super Sunday, our annual day of giving! While we are still counting the donations, we are already at nearly a quarter of a million dollars. Your incredible generosity helps us care for those in need, fight against antisemitism and build a more vibrant future. Hear a special message of thanks from Elise, a local college student, about how your support helps Jewish students like her ??
