Serving Vulnerable Populations - Facilitating Community Engagement - Promoting Jewish Life and Learning The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia's mission is to mobilize financial and volunteer resources to address the community's most critical priorities in Greater Philadelphia, in Israel and around the world. Since 1901, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has served as the central philanthropic and volunteer address for Greater Philadelphia’s Jewish community. The Jewish Federation is the one place every community member looking for help or to help can turn. We act as a convener, fundraiser and funder for dozens of local, national, Israeli and overseas Jewish programs that address the Jewish community’s critical priorities. Through a unique partnership of Jewish Federation volunteers, staff and partner organizations, we provide a safety net of social services and strengthen Jewish continuity for tens of thousands of people each year. Double your impact in the fight against hunger this Thanksgiving! Donate to the Jewish Federation’s Mitzvah Food Program through Giving Tuesday, and your gift will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000 – thanks to the generosity of the Gene and Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Fund. Make your gift go further: jewishphilly.org/mfp-match +++ Since 1996, the Mitzvah Food Program has been serving food insecure individuals and families in Greater Philadelphia. Operating out of four pantry sites in Old York Road, Mainline, Bucks County and Northeast, recipients have the opportunity to select their own fresh, frozen and nonperishable food through a points system as opposed to a prepackaged box of pantry staples.

Jewish Federations are heartbroken and outraged at the murder of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Chabad emissary to the UAE. Jews should be able to practice freely anywhere in the world without becoming targets of terror. May Zvi’s memory be for a blessing and his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion.

On Wednesday, we honored the generosity of our Prime Minister Council donors at an event featuring “Son of Hamas” Mosab Hassan Yousef. Mosab shared the story of how he rejected terror and became an advocate for Israel, helping to thwart Hamas attacks. Thank you to Jill and Mark Fishman for hosting such a powerful evening.

We firmly believe in the Jewish value of “Ve’ahavta le’reyakha kamokha” or “Love Your Neighbor As Thyself” as we strive to Care for Those in Need. Thanks to people like Carole Landis and the Carole Landis Foundation for Social Change and their support of our Mitzvah Food Program, we are able to ensure that all have access to nutritious food.
