  • #ThankfulThursday We are incredibly grateful to the Vocational Independence Program (VIP), whose dedicated volunteers have been supporting our Alex & Sally Lebwohl Food Pantry weekly for the past two years. Coordinated by Imber Services, a nonprofit serving people with disabilities, particularly those on the Autism Spectrum, their contributions make a significant impact. Thank you so much to all the VIP volunteers for your unwavering support and commitment!

While Utah remains the youngest state in the nation, we’re seeing a shift: birth rates are declining and life expectancy is rising. Utah’s older adults are projected to more than double by 2060. ?? Our aging population has spent decades contributing to our communities, and it’s time to return the favor. We must ensure they can age with dignity and independence. That’s why we’ve proposed investing $170.3 million in the WISE Initiative (Wealth, Independence, Security and Engagement), which will focus on: ?? Elimination of the tax on social security benefits. ?? Expanding home-based care to support seniors aging in place. ?? Strengthening protections against senior fraud and exploitation. ?? Ensuring access to healthy food for aging Utahns. ?? Promoting overall well-being with resources that support aging with dignity and independence. Thank you to Utah's leaders across government, academia and the private sector who came together for our Aging Symposium today. Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier future for all Utahns.

  • #ThankfulThursday David is a new volunteer with us in the Alex & Sally Lebwohl Food Pantry and the first volunteer from a new collaboration we started with Easterseals-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain. He volunteers in the pantry two days a week, alongside his wife, sorting food donations for expired and damaged items. “I love coming here. I didn’t have anything to do and I know I’m making a difference now," David said. "I thank the Jewish Family Service folks that give me the opportunity to serve my community.” We truly love our volunteers and community partners who help us make a meaningful impact every day!

  • Jewish Family Service is so honored to be recognized for this award and so proud of our Older Adult team and the services they provide to our community.

  • #YearEndGiving Your year-end contribution, in any amount, will directly benefit individuals and families of all backgrounds in our community who are facing urgent needs. Our programs—ranging from Affordable Mental Health Counseling and Caregiver Support to Emergency Financial Assistance and Older Adult Services—reflect our commitment to serving the diverse needs of those we support. As the need grows, so do our efforts-reaching more families, providing more counseling, and creating an even greater impact. • We’re excited to share that Jewish Family Service was featured on Fox 13's The PLACE Healthier Together with Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah. Katie Young, our Older Adult Services Coordinator, and Robert Korycinski, Associate Program Officer of the Cambia Health Foundation, discussed how JFS is addressing the growing need for respite care in our community. Thanks to a generous grant from Cambia Health Foundation, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah’s charitable arm, JFS offers free in-home respite care for caregivers of older adults—giving them the support they need while caring for their loved ones. • A heartfelt thank you to the incredible employees from Morgan Stanley who volunteered in our Alex & Sally Lebwohl Food Pantry last week as part of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Client Services Week of Gratitude. Their hard work unloading the Utah Food Bank delivery, stocking shelves, and assembling bags for clients truly made a difference. We’re deeply grateful for the community support that helps us serve those facing food insecurity.
