Exciting DARPA win for Freedom Flight Works and Jetoptera!

Jetoptera's 2024 interns, Alexandra Surprise (UW '24) and Abigail George (UW '25) have already started their contribution to the development of the pneumatic system of the FPS for the J-500 cargo drone. One unique feature of the airplane propulsion system is the ultralight air distribution system, which delivers compressed air produced by the turbocompressor to the front and aft thrusters. Unique valves and instrumentation have been successfully tested at representative conditions and significant data acquired. University of Washington rocks!

We are flying in the skies of the U.A.E.! Eanan and Jetoptera have kicked off the flight test campaign of a subscale, eVTOL aircraft which is a flight test bed for the autopilot of the J-500 VTOL cargo UAV we are co-developing. The campaign was initiated at the X-Range test field near Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. The vehicle is operated in automated mode, including VTOL, hover, transitions, and forward flight. The data collected from the flights will be used to inform the J-500 avionics developed by Eanan utilizing the Embention Veronte autopilot as adapted to the unique controls of Jetoptera’s J-series aircraft. We are excited to share the news that Jetoptera and EANAN Al Samma have kicked off the flight test campaign of a subscale aircraft as part of the J-500 co-development program.

Our CEO is the first confirmed speaker at the 2024 Engine Forum Kobe. Andrei will cover the fuel agnostic Fluidic Propulsive System that relies on reliable, proved turbine technology that can be powered by jet fuel, SAF, or hydrogen, bridging the gap between current and future fuels, while propulsion battery technology continues to evolve. https://lnkd.in/gt6Ti8sF
