It was an honor to host Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. for a tour and overview of our Linden Cogen power plant in Linden #NewJersey. We appreciated the Congressman’s engagement on the importance of providing reliable power while continuing to transition to a low-carbon future. ? Our Linden Cogen plant powers the global economy, providing nearly 10% of the electricity in New York City and critical power into the PJM market. Linden has successfully implemented a hydrogen co-firing project on one of the plant’s six turbines, burning off-gas from the adjacent refinery, which lowers CO2 emissions by up to 10% annually on that turbine. With the hydrogen co-firing technology that can burn up to 40% hydrogen, JERA Americas is looking forward to procuring more clean hydrogen to continue to drive down emissions while ensuring reliable power.? ?
