Earn money, enhance your resume and explore the world with pre-arranged working holiday jobs in Canada, Japan, USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Our work here is done. (We're joking, we've only just begun to rock your world. Read on... ) THE BACKSTORY JENZA is the sibling brand to BUNAC and USIT - two leading work overseas organisations in the UK and Ireland with 60+ years' expertise. In 2022, we wanted to spread our version of 'the best job to do in your twenties' (aka, the one you don't do at home) to other parts of the world - launching JENZA in Australia and New Zealand in early 2023. We quickly realised that the world didn't need another working holiday brand, it needed a more authentic one - shaped by the generation it served. So, we recruited a Youth Advisory Panel of 17-25 year olds to help us create our product, and then we sent roadtesters out to experience it. We also set up a work overseas scholarship fund. Because JENZA didn't just have to work for our travellers - it had to work for others too. THE JENZA DIFFERENCE - Pre-arranged working holiday, summer and ski season jobs with vetted employers. - Hostel arrival weeks to help you find your feet/flatmate/future life partner. - Work essentials such as bank account and tax number set up. - Visa and sponsorship assistance from people who know their stuff. THE TEAM Our team support all three of our work overseas brands - JENZA, BUNAC and USIT. As a remote first business whose mission it is to break down barriers and build connections through working overseas, we value passion and experience over academic qualifications. As a business that encourages young people to pack their bags, fly halfway across the world and work or intern overseas - we know we might not always be a parent/guardian's favourite people! Which is why this podcast was super important to us. As the cheerleaders, protectors and often purseholders behind the scenes - we know we have a job to do for parents and guardians too. To make sure we're creating a range of work abroad experiences that can support your child's skillset/CV/ wanderlust (often all of the above!).     I would love to know whether seeing work abroad on a young person’s CV would have any impact on your interest in recruiting them. The working holiday I did in my gap year was literally life-changing. Being immersed in a completely different culture, with people who spoke a different language, and having to work alongside them, was disorienting but had a profound effect on my world view, and resilience. I learnt to adapt quickly, discovered a different work culture mindset, and had to solve a lot of tricky problems alone. My teens are now 16 and 18 and have been through lockdown during a crucial part of building life-skills. As a result, I’m even more keen on them having the chance to work abroad. So when JENZA offered to sponsor this episode I was very keen to hear their tips on how to go about arranging work. My 18 year old wanted to hear what it might do for her career, and has decided she will work in Japan, but my 16 year old wanted to know how much fun she could have and is going to apply to work in a summer camp next year.     Not another Global [insert food, plant, animal or hobby] Day? ??? Yup. Here's why we're launching and advocating for the first Global Work Abroad Day. Today – and on the 8th February every year. While on a Teams call on National Hot Dog Day – heatedly debating how to eat a hot dog (Butter? Absolutely not. Length ways? Fired) – we realised there wasn't a Work Abroad Day. As a company of work abroad addicts, who've built a business (and our careers) on the positive impact of working overseas for 18-30s, we were instantly offended by this and sought to remedy it. Here's why. For young people who have the opportunity to work and travel (minor plug to our Youth Access Scholarship Fund if you need extra financial support next year...), the benefits are huge: - Cultural exposure - Professional development - CV enhancement - Financial independence - Confidence building - Fighting intolerance ... we could go on.     Just back from our JENZA all hands meet up at Center Parcs Woburn. What an amazing week of collaboration, real life connection, wholesome fresh air and most importantly fun (I never underestimate the positive power of proper belly laughs!)
