Join us in "Flipping the Script" by committing to listening during Children's Grief Awareness Month. Be There By Listening: ? Give young people who are grieving your full attention. Let them be themselves without interruptions. ? Demonstrate with your actions that you prioritize understanding their experience over quick responses. Listening can comfort in ways words cannot. Let's be the support that hears first. Learn more about how to be an active listener in the guide linked here: https://lnkd.in/efj7kbuA #ChildrensGriefAwareness #FlipTheScript #CGAM2024 #childrengrieve

This Children’s Grief Awareness Month let’s "Flip the Script" by valuing presence over words. Remember that sometimes, the best support we can offer a young person who is grieving doesn't come from the words we say but from simply being there. Consider these: ? Sit quietly with them, letting the young person lead the way in silence or sharing. ? Engage in activities they enjoy, showing you're there for support. Your presence can be the comforting gesture that words sometimes cannot match. Let's show up with our undivided attention and care. #ChildrensGriefAwareness #FlipTheScript #CGAM2024 #childrengrieve

The theme for World Mental Health Day 2024, “It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace”, highlights the importance of creating mentally healthy work environments and addressing mental health challenges in the workplace. Grief can have a profound impact on mental health, including at the workplace. Jeff’s Place consults with organizations so they can create safe, grief-informed environments. We have met with schools, faith-based institutions, and corporations to provide needed guidance in anticipation of or following a death that impacts their community. #WorldMentalHealthDay

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which aims to promote screening and prevention of the disease. For those who have lost someone to breast cancer, this time of year can be challenging, with its pink ribbons and complicated language of "survivors battling" cancer. At Jeff's Place, we honor the memory of those who have died from breast cancer while holding space for all the messy, complex feelings of those who are grieving that cannot be neatly tied up with a pink ribbon. If you've lost someone to breast cancer and are in need of support, visit our website to learn about our grief support services. Because no one should grieve alone. https://lnkd.in/et7ZDZbS #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerSupport #GriefSupport #LoveLivesOn
