A Community Restaurant is a place where individuals or families can come to eat a delicious farm-to-table meal in a warm, welcoming setting and meet our neighbors. Do I pay for my meal? There are no prices our menu. If you are unable to pay the suggested donation, you may still enjoy a delicious meal. Please come to the restaurant during our hours of operation or email us at [email protected]. We will always have an opportunity open for you. How can I make a difference? We encourage our customers to effect change by making a suggested donation of $20 for their meal. Soul Kitchen offers a Pay It Forward Program where each additional $20 donation provides meals for those who are unable to donate. What kind of food is served? JBJ Soul Kitchen serves a 3-course meal based on American Regional cuisine, beginning with the option of a soup or salad. Each guest also has the choice of an entrée such as a fish, meat, or vegetarian selection. The meal is finished with a freshly made dessert. Our chefs prepare many of the dishes with natural, locally sourced ingredients from our garden or the JBJ Soul Kitchen Farm. Do I need reservations? Reservations are not needed at JBJ Soul Kitchen. We welcome everyone at our table and will seat guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Our in-need diners are given first priority.

JBJ Soul Kitchen has partnered with Saker ShopRites, Inc. to bring our signature JBJ Soul Seasoning to select prepared meals across New Jersey! Look for the JBJ Soul Seasoning sticker on ready-to-eat dishes, self-serve options, and pre-seasoned meats in the meat department. With each purchase, you’re not only enjoying a delicious meal at home but also supporting our mission to help those facing food insecurity.

We’re thrilled to see the launch of the Chance for Change program! At JBJ Soul Kitchen, we’re committed to supporting individuals who face challenges like hunger, homelessness, mental health struggles, and substance use disorders. Through this initiative, we will continue to be a resource for those using transportation services!
We’re excited to partner with NJ TRANSIT to launch the Chance for Change program! Together with Collaborative Support Programs of NJ (CSPNJ) and Volunteers of America Delaware Valley (VOADV), this initiative provides a secure way for NJ TRANSIT customers to make a real difference for those using transportation services facing challenges such as hunger, homelessness, mental health issues, and substance use disorders. One powerful example is Lasheema Edwards, who, despite pursuing her? Ph.D. in Psychology at Grand Canyon University, found herself homeless in? Penn Station due to untreated mental illness. Fortunately,?NJ TRANSIT never gave up on her. Over several attempts, they made continuous efforts to reach out to Lasheema, visiting her at Penn Station and offering assistance. Their perseverance paid off when they?connected her with CSPNJ, providing the resources she needed to get back on her feet.?Today, Lasheema is not only housed but also thriving as an employee at CSPNJ, using her experiences to help others facing similar challenges. Her journey is a testament to the?impact that outreach and the right support?can have on transforming lives. To support programs that assist the homeless, NJ TRANSIT has introduced QR codes at its facilities, providing an easy way for commuters to donate. This initiative aims to redirect donations from panhandlers to established social service organizations that specialize in outreach, healthcare, and housing. As NJ Transit Police Department Chief Christopher Trujillo mentioned, direct donations to individuals may inadvertently support harmful behaviors. Chance for Change ensures that contributions go to trusted partners making a tangible impact. Keep an eye out for Chance for Change signage at your local transit stations for QR codes on how to help! Ready to make an impact now? Visit https://lnkd.in/eE_UVBgu to contribute today!

Last night Brian McCaskill CFP? and I had the pleasure of hosting a New Client Appreciation Dinner at JBJ Soul Kitchen! No better place to celebrate our newest clients and introduce them to all their member benefits than at the Soul Kitchen. JBJ is part of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation and for every meal you buy, you pay it forward and buy a meal for those that can’t afford it. Everyone who “works” there is a volunteer. We also did a food drive to donate to Fulfill, which is the food bank of Monmouth and Ocean counties. John Pettenati (Jack) even used his Action Team to jump start the food drive!! Over 300 people a day use the service of the food bank. Food Insecurity is a big problem in this country. Anything you can do to help makes a big difference. It was a awesome night of great food, friends and generosity. Thank you Jack and Joanne (JBJ Soul Kitchen) for helping us pull this together! JBJ Soul Kitchen
