Optimizing Transportation's Spend and Impact White Paper
交通è¿è¾“管ç†ç³»ç»Ÿ (TMS)
The complexities of transportation cause many companies to treat this segment of the supply chain as an afterthought. Even very sophisticated operations sometimes address transportation in a silo, inadvertently neglecting the significant cost savings and performance improvement they could achieve with a broader perspective. In this whitepaper, we explore why managing transportation holistically is critical to overall business performance and review four key actions companies can take to get the most from this critical area of the business.

Now that the tariffs are in place, it seems logical that transportation demand will decline leading to a more “normalized†market that will potentially offset any increases in fuel expenses.
Helping shippers select, implement and manage Transportation & Fleet Management Systems | TMS Implementation Expert
Tariffs may have sparked a short-term shipping surge, but the real cost driver for North American transportation is still fuel. Here's why... Rates for cross-border trucking to and from the US temporarily surged in anticipation of new tariffs on Canada and Mexico, marking a brief upturn for the US trucking industry after a nearly three-year down cycle. The implementation of the 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada is expected to lead to a decrease in demand and truckload volumes, reversing the recent rate increases. Companies made a last-minute effort to accelerate shipments before the tariff deadline, leading to a significant increase in load volumes, particularly on routes from Canada to the US and in the refrigerated goods market on the US-Mexico border. ?? ?????? ?????????????????????? - ???????????????? ???????? Adam Gray ???????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ?????? ????????????????? ????In advance of the tariffs taking effect, some friends in the industry reported a surge in freight demand from Canada where there were essentially fifty loads for every available truck. This drastic push to move freight in advance of the deadlines drastically impacted demand, escalating prices to levels that haven’t been seen in years. ????The level of panic shippers and customers experienced is understandable considering the trade landscape that seems to be shifting almost daily. While tariffs are certainly going to impact the cost of goods to manufacturers, retailers, and, ultimately, consumers in the medium term at least, the largest variable to North American transportation will be fuel as Canada has historically been a large trading partner for crude oil and a number of different petroleum products. ????According to Google AI, Canada accounts for 60% of the United States' overall crude oil imports and 24% of the United States' overall annual crude oil consumption. Now that the tariffs are in place, it seems logical that transportation demand will decline leading to a more “normalized†market that will potentially offset any increases in fuel expenses. ?? ???????? ???? ?????????????? Rarely would I ever advocate putting transportation business out for bid in the midst of dramatic market shifts. You don’t want to contract long-term rates at a premium that will likely change as fast as it came on. Once the volumes have normalized, there may be some opportunity to contract new rates and generate some savings. More insights in this ?????????????? article: https://lnkd.in/eze9vgQz ??
