Jenn Sharp joined Jay Jeffers Inc. as an intern in 2011, thinking it would be a stepping stone. More than a decade later, she’s still here—leading projects, problem-solving on-site, and shaping homes with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of how people actually live in their spaces. Her work is never one-size-fits-all. Some days, she’s knee-deep in drawings, fine-tuning architectural details. Other days, she’s sourcing materials that strike the right balance between beauty and longevity. And then there are the install days—when all the planning, revisions, and decisions finally come together. The unpredictability is what keeps it interesting. Jenn has played a pivotal role in some of the firm’s most complex projects. In Tahoe, she helped craft a modern mountain retreat where sleek lines meet rugged textures, creating a home that feels effortless—but is anything but. In Lake Michigan, she was instrumental in restoring a historic log cabin, peeling back awkward renovations to reveal its original character while making it more functional for today. Her approach goes beyond aesthetics—it’s about creating homes that truly work for the people who live in them. Taking on the restoration of a historic log cabin on the shores of Lake Michigan came with plenty of challenges—especially when working remotely. That’s where strong partnerships make all the difference. Architect Jessica Van Houzen Stroud was instrumental in bringing this project to life. With extensive experience restoring historic structures, she helped us rework a home that had been expanded over the years in a way that felt disjointed. Collaborating closely with our team, she reconfigured the layout to create a more cohesive flow while preserving its original charm. One of the biggest transformations was the kitchen—a low-ceilinged, windowless addition from the 1950s. Jessica helped us open up the space, making it brighter, more functional, and better connected to the rest of the home. Since we couldn’t be on-site often, we relied on Jessica to handle real-time decisions, troubleshoot challenges, and collaborate closely with the contractors at Shugart Builders Inc. Having a trusted architect on site allowed us to confidently navigate the complexities of this Lake Michigan retreat, knowing every detail was in expert hands. #JayJeffersInc #ArchitectureDesign #CabinDesign

Design is personal, and so is the process. Every designer works differently – there’s no one "right" way, only what allows you to think, create, and problem-solve best. For Jay, that means stepping away from the screen, sketching by hand, and mapping out every detail with Post-its. Seeing materials in real space, rather than on a computer, makes the vision clearer and the decisions more intentional. The takeaway? We’re thrilled to share Jay Jeffers’ West Village apartment, now featured in @GalerieMagazine. This project is all about atmosphere—layered, moody, and deeply personal. Inspired by the timeless charm of refined men’s clubs, the palette draws on rich tones of tobacco, whiskey, and Merlot, creating a space as inviting as it is sophisticated. Thoughtful details, curated elements, and a sense of balance make it just right for intimate gatherings or quiet nights by the fire.
