Jasper Health announces that it has expanded its cancer navigation and supportive care services to 27 states across the U.S. These services will be reimbursed through Medicare/Medicaid as well as major payers including Aetna, Elevance and UnitedHealthcare.? “With our focused efforts developing the new PIN code support services, Jasper is building on the evidence and policies developed by CancerX, NCCN and ASCO to provide cancer support and SDOH services that meet patient needs,” said Dr. Chet Robson, Jasper Health’s Chief Medical Officer. The digital health rhetoric these days seems to be quite polarizing. While acknowledging the pivotal role of technology in enhancing health, we are still in the early innings for healthcare tech as it relates to the transformative impact many had expected to come to fruition. I sat down with my long-time friend and colleague, Mona Siddiqui, MD, MPH, MSE, leader Highmark Health to put together our thoughts on how to truly create scale in healthcare through technology. The TL/DR: ?? 1. Scalability requires greater connectivity, diving into the integration of technology in clinical settings. ?? 2. Payer reimbursement models need to catch up to the changing care delivery landscape ?? 3. There is real potential for AI and machine learning but it doesn't replace care ?? 4. The Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance (MBCGA) brings men with breast cancer together with researchers, clinicians, and oncologists around the world for the purpose of advancing research, clinical trials and treatments for men diagnosed with breast cancer. MBGA's mission is to advocate for all men diagnosed with breast cancer to ensure they receive equal access to support and treatment; to serve as a source of support and resources for the men, their care partners, and their families; to ensure that men are appropriately represented in research and clinical trials, and to recruit volunteer “ambassadors'' to increase awareness of breast cancer in men on a global scale.
