?? Grok 3 is now #1 on the chatbot arena! Does that mean Grok 3 is the best LLM out there? Spoiler alert ??♀? : the community actually does not know how to properly evaluate LLMs. Chatbot arena ranks LLMs by aggregating a large amount of data from head-to-head human evaluations of two competing models. Similar to how sports rankings work for athletes like tennis players or chess grandmasters. The problem? The ranking algorithm you choose (Elo, Bradley-Terry, etc) can generate conflicting rankings ?? So which LL is the best when ranking algorithms disagree? Check out our publication for best practices to evaluate those models: https://lnkd.in/eJUThq-z

?? We’re thrilled to share a significant milestone at Jaseci! Our team had the privilege of collaborating with a leading financial institution known for its innovative digital solutions, particularly in online lending and auto financing. Through our collaboration, we developed a transformative AI project and delivered the end-to-end prototype in less than 2 months. While we can’t disclose the specifics of this collaboration, we’re excited to share the valuable insights and lessons learned during this journey. ?? Key Takeaways from Our Work 1?? Model Sovereignty Is Essential In the GenAI era, it’s vital for companies to own and control their models to maintain a competitive edge. We leveraged state-of-the-art open-source models and deployed them in Ally's secure environment, ensuring they retain complete control over their AI assets. 2?? Thoughtful Model Selection Drives Results Selecting the right model is critical for accuracy, user experience, and scalability. We conducted a rigorous analysis of state-of-the-art language models to identify the best fits for our partner’s needs, creating a robust foundation for future innovation. 3?? Accelerating Time-to-Market with Efficient Learning By utilizing various learning techniques such as In-context Learning and Few-shot Learning, we adapted pre-trained models to deliver highly specialized results without the need for extensive retraining. This approach saved time and resources while delivering high-quality outcomes. 4?? Multi-modal Reasoning drives Future Product Innovation We applied advanced techniques, such as Step-by-Step Model Reasoning, to unlock rich, contextual outputs. This enables AI systems to digest multi-modal inputs (images, text) and generate detailed insights and improve usability, trust, and user adoption across various applications. ?? A Look Ahead This collaboration highlights the incredible potential of AI to drive innovation and create value. We’re excited about the journey ahead as we continue to explore cutting-edge applications of AI together. #AI #Innovation #Jaseci #GenAI #Collaboration

Exciting news for my friends and colleagues in the enterprise navigating the AI landscape: Qwen has just released Qwen2.5-VL, and it's a game-changer for enterprise AI strategy. https://lnkd.in/dxRrNMQD This release exemplifies what We've been advocating for: a model-sovereign approach to operationalizing AI. The ability to swap models while maintaining your infrastructure is no longer just a good idea – it's become essential for staying competitive. We've been using Qwen2-VL in production, delivering real business value across disparate use cases, and now Qwen2.5-VL raises the bar even higher, and can be plopped directly into high value use case pipelines we've already built (for specialized fine tuning and prompt training) while maintaining complete model control. Qwen is indeed a special model as it can serve as the agentic core that excels not just at building conversational agents, but also at document understanding, visual analysis, OCR, and structured data extraction – crucial capabilities for enterprise and commercial operations. It can handle everything from complex charts to lengthy documents, making it particularly valuable for automated analysis and reporting in sectors that need it most (financial, insurance, etc.) Here's what enterprise leaders should be thinking about: When evaluating AI vendors and internal teams, ask pointed questions about multi-modal model support and model interchangeability. Can they integrate cutting-edge models like Qwen? Can they adapt as new, better models emerge? This aligns with what we predicted in our research on distilled local models done a year before Deepseek bore out our prediction. https://lnkd.in/gFSmpSUH As we're seeing with developments from both Qwen and DeepSeek, model sovereignty (complete model ownership and control) isn't just desirable, it's now table stakes. The signal is clear: build your AI strategy around model sovereignty and rapid interchangeability. It's not just about having the latest tech – it's about maintaining control, managing costs, and ensuring your AI infrastructure can evolve with the market. Oh, and you get privacy for free of course ;-) Nicholas Smith, Sathish M., Pat Rinaldo Gaurav Saxena,
