?? Joshua Evans?joins us as our new Senior Surfacing Artist!?? A little about Josh: ? "I'm a huge nerd and spend most of my free time gaming with friends, watching good movies/anime, and going to conventions around southern CA. Recently, I've been playing a lot of Helldivers 2, Baldur's Gate 3, and League of Legends. Huge fan of D&D as well and have been DMing a campaign for my friends. Favorite movies and anime are Blade Runner OG & 2049, Hot Fuzz, Full Metal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell and Berserk. As a big fan of outdoors and adventure, I'll never say no to a good hiking, camping or jeeping trip. I'll usually go out to Easter Jeep Safari at Moab, UT every year with my brother and Bernese mountain dog Murph to hit some jeep trails and camp out for the week. Lately, I've been getting back into digital painting for fun and trying to learn Japanese in preparation for a future trip. Looking forward to working with and getting to know everyone!" ? ??? ?? Welcome Scott Marshall as our newest Lead Animator!!??? About Scott in his own words: ? "I've been animating in games for 20 years now! It's been a wild ride, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. I live in Austin, TX with my amazing family (wife and 3 daughters, 3 dogs and 4 cats). In my free time, I love mountain biking, playing games, watching movies, smoking meat/cooking, hanging out with my family and occasionally travelling. I spend as much time as I physically can biking, there are a lot of awesome trails in Central Texas. For games, I've been really into indie platformers like Blasphemous 1 and 2 lately. It's so Texan, but I love using my smoker to slow cook brisket, pulled pork and ribs. I'm excited to join the journey with Jar of Sparks!" ? ?? Excited to have you with us Scott!??

Our new Senior Tech Artist (Visual Effects), Anna Dickinson, joins the ranks today! A little about Anna in her own words: "I’m excited to be joining Jar of Sparks as a Senior Technical Artist! I’ve arrived here after long career which has hopped around quite a bit: games, film VFX, software engineering, and even electronics and circuit design (my original background was in Electrical Engineering). Most recently, I was Principal Tech Artist, and later, Lead VFX Artist on, “Return to Moria” at Free Range Games. Outside of work, my side-hustle is music: I play guitar and sing in a band called, “Polythene Pam.” We play occasionally around the Bay Area. You can check us out on Insta @polypamband, or at polythenepamband.com Favorite Game: Hmm… that’s a tough decision, but the one I’ve consistently returned to for decades is Katamari Damacy. It’s the perfect blend of intensely addictive yet simple and satisfying gameplay, quirky music, and a colorful, surrealist-psychadelic-I-don’t-know-what-to-even-call-it art style. I can’t even count how many hours I’ve spent hyponotically rolling up everything from detritus to entire civilazations into a ginormous, wiggly ball. So satisfying! Love that game! Food: Probably SF Mission-style burritos. Every food group rolled up in one! Skill: I’m a decent singer; but I’d love to learn to be an amazing singer with a beautiful voice." ?? Here's a little bit about Jacob in his own words: "I've been making games for nearly a decade. I've cut my teeth at Gearbox, sharpened my skills at Epic, and most recently flew with People Can Fly. I live in Texas with my wife and 2 (soon to be 3) boys. When I'm not working or parenting, I enjoy cooking, swimming, playing games, and reading and writing stories. Bryan has been pushing pixels for over 20 years in the film, animation and games industries.?Most recently he worked with Gearbox Studio Quebec and Ubisoft Toronto.?As a lighting artist he thrives on helping to create the most immersive worlds possible for players. ? When not in front of a?screen?you can find Bryan playing tabletop games, coaching youth sports at the baseball diamond or the hockey rink or paddling through the backcountry of Northern Ontario. ??
