We cheered together as the ribbon was cut by robotically operated scissors — a nod to the college’s high-tech focus. Tooele Tech, a key local workforce development engine, now has 38,000 additional square feet for training students in welding, machining, diesel technology, robotics, nursing, surgical tech, cosmetology and more. #BuiltForLife #BuildingEnduringCommunities

It’s #ThrowbackThursday and we’re going back to 1989! Jacobsen’s restoration of the Salt Lake City & County Building, completed that year, was a groundbreaking achievement — the first-ever seismic base isolation retrofit of a historical structure in the country! Jacobsen installed 447 lead/rubber base isolators, reinforced the exterior stonework, restored intricate ornamental plastering and more. This landmark project remains one of the most impactful in Jacobsen history, and preserved this architectural treasure to continue as the seat of city government — a role it has held since 1894. #BuiltForLife #SLC #TBT

Jacobsen's project team and USU veterinary educators recently celebrated placing the final steel beam on this 106,000-square-foot facility. When complete in Summer 2026, it will be Utah’s first four-year veterinary college, featuring state-of-the-art classrooms, labs and faculty spaces. ICYMI: The southwest corner of Temple Square has been opened to the public — meaning the full west side of the temple campus is now accessible to visitors! Finish work is also moving ahead for the baptismal fonts and sealing (marriage) rooms in the temple's north addition. And within the historic temple, there is ongoing finish work in the celestial room; this area had required abatement earlier in the project to remove lead-based paint. Leyla Pacheco joined Jacobsen in 2024 after several years on the architecture side of the A/E/C industry. Since then, what she has enjoyed the most about construction is "the opportunity to get a 360-degree view of the full lifetime of a project."
