ICYMI: The southwest corner of Temple Square has been opened to the public — meaning the full west side of the temple campus is now accessible to visitors! Finish work is also moving ahead for the baptismal fonts and sealing (marriage) rooms in the temple's north addition. And within the historic temple, there is ongoing finish work in the celestial room; this area had required abatement earlier in the project to remove lead-based paint. At Jacobsen, we believe the construction industry is especially strengthened when women not only have fulfilling careers in this profession, but also have a seat at the table as strategic leaders responsible for long-term business planning and high-stakes decision making. “In celebration of 2025 Women in Construction Week, I’m excited to see more women discovering the construction industry as a space for innovation, opportunity and leadership. By actively recruiting, mentoring and uplifting female talent, we spark fresh thinking, a vibrant culture and successful career pathways that truly welcome everyone.” — Amy Christensen, EVP, Corporate Communications & Brand Marketing #BuiltForLife #WICWeek2025 #TogetherWeRise

Leyla Pacheco joined Jacobsen in 2024 after several years on the architecture side of the A/E/C industry. Since then, what she has enjoyed the most about construction is "the opportunity to get a 360-degree view of the full lifetime of a project." Leyla's advice to women interested in a construction career is to "believe in your vision, and bet on your abilities!" "Do not be discouraged by outdated perceptions of the construction industry and your place in it. Make it your own, trust there is room for change and participate in making it happen." #BuiltForLife #PeopleOfJacobsen #WomenInConstruction #WICWeek2025

Olysia Johnson chose a career in construction for the unique range of experiences it offered her as a professional, and for the chance to do work for clients who are shaping our communities. "I grew up doing construction work with my dad, whether it was flipping houses or doing home renovations," said Olysia, a preconstruction assistant. "Not once did I think a career in construction was only meant for men. Taking the path of construction as a woman was just another opportunity to be an innovator." #BuiltForLife #WomenInConstruction #WICWeek2025

Jennifer Allen, who has been with Jacobsen since 2014, says what she loves most about being in the construction industry is “the tangible sense of achievement.” “As a child, I would ride around with my grandfathers and father, listening to their stories about the buildings they helped create. Now that I am in the industry, I take great joy in showing my family the projects Jacobsen is building,” she said. Jenn's advice for women considering a career in construction? "Trust in your skills and knowledge — you have just as much to offer as anyone else." #BuiltForLife #WomenInConstruction #WICWeek2025

Jacobsen is proud to celebrate Women in Construction Week 2025, and its #TogetherWeRise message! Throughout the week, we will be spotlighting multiple #WomenInConstruction at Jacobsen and sharing their perspectives about the industry. Across America, there are about 1.3 million women working in construction, an increase of more than 400,000 in just the past decade. We're grateful to the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) for promoting dialogue about how to better recruit and retain this valuable and growing portion of the industry's workforce. #BuiltForLife #WICWeek2025

This Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Utah video clip celebrates the Westminster University L.S. Skaggs Integrated Wellness Center as Green Building Project of the Year. The Integrated Wellness Center is completely powered by 145 photovoltaic rooftop solar panels that produce net-positive energy, with surplus power stored in batteries for later use. The Soldier Hollow Nordic Center Competition Management Building Renovation & Expansion was a project with extraordinary impacts on Utah’s readiness to host the Winter Olympics and other international sporting events. Associated General Contractors of Utah recently presented this clip honoring the construction team here with the Sports/Recreation Project of the Year award.
