关于我们

Founded in 1885, the Jacksonville Humane Society is a local, independent non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. JHS provides care, comfort and compassion to animals in need while engaging hearts, hands and minds of our community to bring about an end to the killing of abandoned and orphaned shelter animals. JHS is proud to partner with local agencies to keep Jacksonville a no kill city. In 2022, JHS provided almost 9,000 homeless pets with shelter and medical care as they waited to find loving homes. The Jacksonville Humane Society's Adoption, Education and Pet Help Center is open 7 days a week for adoption. We also offer help for pet owners in need, children's education camps, military veteran training, business partnerships, volunteer opportunities and more! Follow JHS on Twitter and Instagram at @jaxhumane and Facebook at Facebook.com/jaxhumane

  • We had a paw-sitively wonderful time at our Pawsident's Day camp on Monday! Our kind, compassionate campers designed campaign posters to promote pets in the shelter, read to some of our pups to help them feel more calm in their kennels, and crafted delicious red, white, and blue dog treats made of banana, peanut butter, and coconut flour. We also had the opportunity to spend time with two pups at JHS who are currently available for adoption: Pebble and Orin. As you can see, Pebble and Orin had a blast meeting our camp crew and soaking up all the extra love and attention ???? Thank you to our friends at Pup O'clock for sponsoring this camp and sending everyone home with pet chore charts and fun trading cards! ?? Registration is NOW OPEN for our Spring Break Camp on March 19-21! Learn more and register: jaxhumane.org/camp
