Gertrude “Cleo” Lythgoe?– The “Queen of the Bahamas” didn’t just smuggle liquor—she?controlled the supply.?Men underestimated her. That was their first mistake. Cleo ran one of the most powerful rum-running operations in the Caribbean and did it all without breaking a sweat.
