For those in the snow and ice community, we recently lost an industry veteran to cancer. You will be missed Eric. A GoFundMe has been set up to help bless his children with a college/future fund. Anything helps, even a share.
We recently lost a member of the snow and ice community, Eric Estes. Eric lost a battle to cancer and was a long-time Symposium exhibitor and resource to many in the professional snow and ice industry, particularly well-known in Michigan with his company Plow Right Marking Stakes. If inclined, a GoFundMe has been set up for both his funeral expenses and his children’s future. Those can be found here: https://hubs.li/Q02ZwZwn0 https://gofund.me/bf92c302

Why am I so passionate about employee engagement and development? It’s because I have seen it work. To my snow industry peers, how would you like to retain 44% more of your seasonal staff? I led initiatives that did just this and am excited to share them with you at our next Free Lunch and Learn. Friday, December 6 at 12pm EST: https://lnkd.in/ecHKFyY9 If you can’t make it live, register and I’ll send the recording.

My passion for increasing employee engagement, which then leads to company goals being exceeded, came from real life experience. I collaboratively led employee development and engagement initiatives that reduced full-time employee turnover by 36% in one year in the snow industry. My hope is to see this spread across the snow, landscape and facilities management industries. I’m working for the “Win/Win” of employees engaged while working in their strengths/passions AND company goals being exceeded. #Inspiration #SnowIndustry #SnowContractor #Retention #EmployeeRetention #EmployeeEngagement #Success

Continuing the discussion on how snow removal is like chess. More accurately, it’s like chess if the board could change after every move. ??- In chess, you start with a set of pieces with different strengths (moves) and you build your strategy around this. ???? - In snow, your pieces are your employees, equipment, and other tools. They all have unique strengths (moves) and the best companies play to those strengths to engage their employees and get the best results (a Win/Win) ????- In chess, it’s tough enough playing against an opponent. Imagine if your pieces could suddenly quit mid game? ??. In snow, this happens, employees don’t show up during a storm, equipment breaks down, technology fails, etc… This is why building an engaged team is important. Engaged teams stay positive and work through problems to get results. Come learn how to build an engaged team at our Free Lunch and Learn on December 6 at 12pm EST (if you register, you’ll receive the recording, even if you can’t make it live): https://lnkd.in/ecHKFyY9 #Chess #SnowIndustry #EmployeeEngagement #Training
