Uniform care 101: Extend the life of your investment with these 5 easy tips! ???? ?? Check the Label Be sure to check the clothing labels for washing instructions. Many uniforms can be machine-washed and tumble-dried, but some will require dry cleaning. ?? ?? Treat the stains correctly For protein food stains, use a laundry detergent with enzymes. Check the label for enzymes, soak the stains in cool water with the detergent, and then wash in warm water. For dye stains (like fruit juices) act quickly by rinsing the stain under cold water. Then, mix three tablespoons of sodium carbonate with one tablespoon of water to form a paste and apply it to the stain. Let it dry, then rinse with lukewarm water and wash in the hottest safe water for the fabric. For grass stains, soak in cool water with an enzyme detergent for a few hours. Wash in warm water and repeat if necessary. ?? Wash Clothes in Cold Water ?? Hot water can damage fabrics and fade colors. To preserve clothes, wash them in cold water on a delicate cycle with liquid laundry detergent, as powdered detergents may leave residue. ?? Wash Clothes Inside Out Washing and drying clothes inside out protects embroidery and screen printing, helping designs last longer. ?? Use Less Detergent?? Using too much laundry detergent can leave residue on clothes, requiring extra rinsing. It may also irritate sensitive skin. Opt for a fragrance-free, dye-free, hypoallergenic detergent to minimize skin irritation.
