Today, members of our survey team joined Loudoun Water in celebrating the 25th Anniversary of GIS Day! This milestone highlights the incredible power of Geographic Information Systems in shaping our world. It was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on our ongoing projects with Loudoun Water and the strength of our partnership in leveraging GIS technology to deliver innovative solutions. Our team recently went out for a site visit to review the progress of our Safe Routes to School project near Countryside Elementary School! We were onsite checking out the completed trail phase, which connects school access to the trail along Tripleseven Road, and seeing the progress on the next phase. Once fully complete, this project will provide a safe path for students, staff, and parents to travel between the Tripleseven Road residential area and the school. The improvements include new sidewalks, high-visibility crosswalks, and upgraded drainage to ensure safe, accessible routes for all. The federally funded Virginia Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program, this VDOT- Locally Administered Project brings together multiple stakeholders committed to enhancing pedestrian connectivity for our local schools. Exciting news! One of J2’s projects, Watson Mountain Middle School, is nominated for an award in Civil + Structural magazine’s Yearbook of Engineering Achievement! Our Land Development team provided civil engineering design for this new school for Loudoun County Public Schools, which welcomed students in September.
