The Safety Stand Down Arguably one of the most informative meetings we can hold in the field. This is usually because we are discussing an incident that has occurred in the industry and the incident has already been investigated. The safety community is a small portion of the construction/mining industry but you’ll be hard pressed to find a group that is more willing to share their experiences so that others may learn from them. The information discussed is designed to educate and remind our valued crews that what they do on a daily basis is still hazardous work. Taking 10-15 minutes to share information is one of the best utilizations of time we can do. #ChallengeAccepted

Training = Safety We all know that part of safety is training. Those training classes come in a variety of forms. Some are complex with large crowds, media equipment, catered meals, function halls, well, you know what we are talking about. Other trainings are more simple, more personable, a more relaxed environment some may say. These would be called site specific orientation. They are very specific to a project and they allow much more communication to take place as they cover a variety of topics. Taking the time to train at a project level allows you to be fully engaged in those site hazards. #ChallengeAccepted
