National Engineer Week is wrapping up, but we can’t end it without celebrating another one of our incredible engineers here at JWI. We spoke with Vice President John Farsatis to learn how JWI supports the transformative work he and his team successfully execute regularly. How has JWI supported you and your professional goals? “JWI is committed to supporting professional development and offers various programs and initiatives designed to help employees achieve their goals. More importantly, the company leadership has allowed me to take an entrepreneurial approach to my professional growth, where I can define the path I want to be on and develop a plan to make the opportunity materialize. This out-of-the-box thinking has given me the opportunity to create a path for advancement with the support of my leadership team.” What is one thing you would tell someone considering a career in engineering? “My advice for someone considering a career in engineering is to stay curious and embrace lifelong learning. Engineering is a constantly evolving field, and effective engineers are the ones who can adapt, develop lasting professional relationships, and invest in themselves to improve their skills continually. By applying these principles, you can set yourself apart and open up endless opportunities in your career. One final piece of advice is not to take yourself too seriously and try and have fun along the way.” Thank you, John, for the insight into Engineering. Make sure to tag your favorite engineer and celebrate their accomplishments this week! #Chicago?#Denver?#Orlando?#Atlanta?#construction?#aviation?#transportation?#constructionmanagement?#projectmanagementtraining

It's National Engineers Week, which means it's time for us to raise and celebrate our incredible engineers, who spend their time innovating and cultivating a brighter future for all of us. Here's what one of our Project Engineers, Alex O'Brien, had to say about his experience providing engineering services at JWI. What is it like working as an?engineer?at JWI? “I think the two words I would use to describe working as an engineer at JWI are options and opportunity.?JWI does a great job of listening to your interests and allowing you to pursue them.?Whether you are interested in Design, Inspection, or Construction Management, you can decide what fits your goals best.?As time progresses, your goals may change, and if you’d like to pursue Design, that can easily be achieved.?The opportunity to pursue what you are interested in while seeing a diverse set of projects is what being an engineer at JWI is all about.” How has JWI supported you and your professional goals? “Whenever I see a JWI coworker, and we begin talking about our current projects, it isn’t long before the conversation shifts to Clubs, Classes, or certificates they are pursuing to improve their career.?A huge benefit to this company is that we interact and work with a large number of people from different companies and contractors.?These interactions give us a well-rounded insight into what others are doing and whether it would be worthwhile to pursue.?I’ve talked with coworkers who have taken classes on everything from soils to Fiber Optic Cable to Concrete.?That is only possible because JWI allows us to go after what interests us.” We love to see our employees grow, and know Alex has a bright future with JWI. Thank you, Alex, and look out for another post highlighting a JWI engineer later this week! #Chicago?#Denver?#Orlando?#Atlanta?#construction?#aviation?#transportation?#constructionmanagement?#projectmanagementtraining

We are so proud of Ella and look forward to seeing her growth through this process!
Exciting news! I’m officially registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in Colorado! This is a big step in my journey toward becoming a Professional Engineer (PE), and I couldn’t be more excited to keep expanding my expertise and growing in the field. Working at the Denver International Airport, I see firsthand how engineering decisions shape complex projects, from facility upgrades to airfield developments. Every challenge is an opportunity to sharpen my skills, and this milestone is just the beginning. Looking forward to what’s ahead—more learning, more problem-solving, and, eventually, a PE license!
