Dear IxDA Phoenix Members, As the summer draws to a close (and for those of us with kids returning to school), it’s time for renewed focus and commitment to bring this IxDA community together. The past several months I’ve been personally challenged with work and the unemployment landscape, dealing with recruiters (good ones and bad ones), hiring leaders who don’t know what they need (we’re not mockup ??) and getting in touch with my 6 year old self (with my kiddo). So let’s get into it. Topics covered General happenings New IxDA Meetup Structure 5min Survey Upcoming Meetups Locations Closing General Happenings IxDA Phoenix in the past (pre-covid) was a fun collaborate network of like minded professionals in the UX space. Personally, I networked, learned about UX business problems, best practices and even presented. I want to bring that back and get people outside their office or home to play more collaboratively. Also in a series of strange events, the parent organization & board of IxDA has had some leadership and structure changes. You can read more about it here, but that won’t impact local groups. New IxDA Meetup Structure The new structure I’m going to attempt to launch are bi-weekly coffee meetups, in a rotation of locations in Metro Phoenix. The gatherings are intended to provide a cozy and relaxed environment that may be geographically convenient to meet and discuss the latest trends in UX, Strategy, and of course Interaction Design! It will be a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow UX members, share insights, and brainstorm collectively on work challenges you may have (yes you can vent) in a more personal setting.
