The African IXP Association is hiring! Are you passionate about Internet ecosystem development and want to make an impact on Africa's digital landscape? If so, we are seeking dynamic and motivated individuals for two key roles: The AFIX Fundraising Manager & AfPIF Logistics Manager. These roles will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that support our mission and enable the delivery of the African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF), an annual Internet industry conference that hosts ~400 attendees in a different country each year. This year's African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) will take place at the Hilton in Kinshasa, DR Congo from August 20-22. AfPIF is an annual Internet industry event that aims to address Africa's key interconnection, peering, and traffic exchange challenges and opportunities in order to promote the development of infrastructure and services in Africa. This year's conference will focus on recent developments in DR Congo including new cross-border backbones that will soon connect East, West, and Southern Africa through an untapped market of ~112 million people. Today we had a new edition of Internet Exchange Federation (IX-F) Global Sessions. This time we focus on "Tools & Automation". The session had more than 70 participants representing #IXP operators from different countries around the world that are members of the regional associations (The African IXP Association, Asia Pacific Internet Exchange Association, European Internet Exchange Association and LAC-IX). ?? A special thanks to Matt Griswold, Veit Heller and Nick Hilliard for their participation as presenters. ?? We are convinced that this type of initiative enriches the participants that make up the global community of #IXPs. ??

This week we held our Board members regular meeting. It has been a very productive session in which we talked about the upcoming activities of the IX-F. In particular, we began to coordinate the next IX-F Global Session, which is an instance of participation and interaction of all the #IXPs under the regional associations (LAC-IX, European Internet Exchange Association, The African IXP Association and Asia Pacific Internet Exchange Association).
