We are thrilled to announce that the Portugieser Eternal Calendar has received the prize for the Aiguille d’Or at the 24th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG). An unprecedented feat of haute horlogerie, the first-ever secular perpetual calendar from IWC pushes the boundaries of engineering, with a mechanism that touches the limits of eternity. The groundbreaking timepiece includes a newly engineered 400-year gear that accounts for the exceptions of the Gregorian calendar, calculating the leap year correctly until at least 3999.
