Bring main street, downtown, & the local economy back to life with small-scale manufacturing. CEO of Recast City.
Thank you Next City for publishing my piece on Baltimore - it is a national model, and everyone should know it. Now, even more than ever, we need to invest in locally owned businesses, in our communities, and in our people to create more opportunities. Key players like Baltimore Development Corporation, Open Works Baltimore, Innovation Works Baltimore, Ignite Capital, 1100 Wicomico, Harbor Designs & Manufacturing, LLC, Central Baltimore Partnership, MCB Real Estate, Made In Baltimore - and many others are all making it happen. Yesterday we wrapped up our virtual conference, "Impact Innovators: Driving Change Through Social Entrepreneurship," and I couldn’t be more inspired! The event was filled with presentations highlighting the vital role libraries play in supporting social entrepreneurs in their communities. ? A huge thank you to all of our amazing speakers, the attendees who made the event engaging and meaningful, and our outstanding keynote speakers, Kelsey and Dan, from Innovation Works Baltimore who gave one of the best presentations I've seen in a while. ?? ? A special shout-out to my co-chair, Ciera, and the rest of the team Steve, Kellee, Angel (and Jim for stepping in last-minute to support the event) who helped make yesterday a success.? ? I can't wait to hear about all of the innovative approaches libraries will take in the future in supporting the changemakers in their communities.

Early Charm and The LaunchPort are pleased to sponsor Monneah’s Engineered Materials' event to raise awareness in safety compliance and the importance of PPE in safety operations. The program is specifically intended for smaller biotech, hardtech and manufacturing company employees to network around safety. We certainly welcome those from larger organizations and with a lot more experience to come share that experience. Too often I hear from startup execs that they hired people with strong science backgrounds from a university so surely those people will be safe because they understand what they are doing. I wish safety were that easy. Come learn more. We made it free so there's no excuse. https://lnkd.in/e43kzrQ8 Tuesday Sept 24 4-7 Perfect for tenants of Open Works Baltimore, The LaunchPort, bwtech@UMBC Research and Technology Park, BioPark, FastForward Robert Storey Mark VanderZyl Will Holman Marjie Cota Josh Ambrose Want to contribute your expertise or help sponsor, reach out to the organizer, Aalliyeh Clinton - shown below sporting her fancy lab coat she's developing for increased comfort and SAFETY
