I was recently asked to be a Mentor to the students in the Social Strategy and Management department at Savannah College of Art and Design and my number one take away was this: When you provide people with resources they will flourish. I was blown away by the resources that SCAD Students have access to on campus and the creativity it inspired within them. Every conversation I had with students in my few days there was full of big ideas, incredibly specific questions, and an eye on the future. As business owners its easy to get caught up in the day to day tasks. Taking a few days away to get back in the student mindset and tap into the creative minds of Gen Z was so inspiring for me. It inspired me to provide more resources to our own team, have more creative-focused conversations, and explore more new ideas for our clients. The fact that a BFA Major around social media marketing even exists absolutely blows me away and makes me SO incredibly excited for the future of this industry. I truly can't wait for these students to hit the workforce and bring their talents to major companies. Huge thank you to Jeanne McPhillips, MBA for introducing me to SCAD and bringing me into the fold! And a shout out to Oscar Betancur for creating this curriculum that is surely shaping the future of social media marketing as we know it??
