关于我们
The Walter Center for Career Achievement guides students through the unique liberal arts journey. We work with students in the College of Arts + Sciences to leverage their in-demand liberal arts skills and map out a life they'll love. We help students pursue impactful experiences, design their life, share their stories, and build meaningful connections. Through a community-centered approach, we develop connections and deliver expert guidance that creates opportunities for students to successfully engage with employers, industry experts, and alumni.

I’m so excited about this event! As someone who’s been teaching German as a foreign language for over 20 years and working in career development, I’ve seen firsthand how language learning opens doors—not just to careers like teaching or translation, but to a whole range of opportunities that require cultural competency, adaptability, and strong communication skills. Learning a language is more than mastering vocabulary and grammar—it’s about thinking critically, approaching the world with curiosity and empathy, and developing a whole new idea about building connections across disciplines. Some of these skills are truly valued in the 21st century workplace. If you’re learning a language and wondering how it can shape your professional journey, don’t miss this chance to hear from IU students and alumni who’ve done just that! #LanguageLearning #GlobalSkills #CareerDevelopment #CulturalCompetency #LiberalArts
Learning a language and curious as to how you can utilize it in your career? Attend the Language Learners Lounge to hear short presentations of success stories from IU students and alumni whose language studies have inspired their academic and career journeys!?
