This is the BIGGEST crawler crane in Minnesota — a brand new Liebherr 11000 with V-Frame — and it’s operated by 49ers working for VIC's Crane & Heavy Haul. With a massive, 1,200-ton capacity, it nearly doubles the capacity of Vic’s second-largest crane. The crew operating it includes Local 49 members Al Gilbertson, Jered Bamlet, Connor Hendrickson, Brian Swedock, Tyler Diercks, Mitch Tix and Remington Bamlet. #heavyequipment #cranes
We just celebrated Veterans Day - here’s a reminder that the trades are a great place for veterans to find opportunity and meaningful work after their service.
Across America, we're meeting people who will be delivering the infrastructure projects we're funding. Secretary Pete Buttigieg met Jordan in Washington state, where we're helping replace the I-5 bridge. Like so many veterans, Jordan found his way to a union and meaningful civilian work that changed his life.
Thanks to Martin Marietta in Maple Grove for hosting Operating Engineers Pathway students last week! Students from Wright Technical Center who are participating in the program had a tour of the aggregate site, asphalt plant and shop.
