Today we're sharing difficult announcement. As of Wednesday, February 19, 2025, we will be winding down Dandi’s operations. See Jeff's post below for more information, and head over to our blog to get the story on how we arrived at this moment. Link in comments.
I'm sharing some difficult news about Dandi, a venture-backed startup I've been leading since 2018.? We built a DEI analytics product that our customers genuinely loved (NPS > 80!), achieving nearly $1.5M in ARR with 210% YoY growth and a 142% net revenue retention rate. Our time-to-recover CAC was a healthy 7 months (cash-on-cash, fully loaded on a contribution margin basis). We were incredibly proud of the business we built and the positive impact we were having. Despite these successes, we faced significant headwinds. The market downturn starting in early 2023 coupled with the changing legal and political landscape around DEI created insurmountable challenges. We explored all avenues, including an M&A process, but ultimately couldn't secure the necessary resources to continue operating. As a result, we'll be winding down Dandi's operations, effective Wednesday, February 19, 2025.? This was a tough decision, and one we didn't take lightly. In the near-term, our focus is on ensuring a smooth transition for our customers. Access to Dandi’s software: Provided for the next week or so. Accessing data: Customers can export their reports and dashboards through the product or ask us at Dandi to do it for you. Expressing gratitude: We'll be reaching out personally to each of our customers to thank them for their support. This journey has been an incredible learning experience. I'm immensely grateful to my co-founders for their dedication and sacrifice, especially during the past five months when we went without salaries to maximize our chances of success. Special thanks to Surag Mungekar, Ryan Schell and Viktor Persson. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to our investors for believing in our vision and supporting us along the way. Most importantly, I want to thank our families who supported us every step of the way. While I'm disappointed that Dandi's story is ending this way, I'm also filled with gratitude for the amazing team, the loyal customers, and the invaluable lessons learned. The entrepreneurial journey is full of highs and lows, and this is certainly a challenging moment. However, I'm excited to see what the future holds and eager to embrace new opportunities. I'd love to reconnect with friends and colleagues from over the years – please feel free to call, email, or send me a message to chat.
