Dr. Taylor Li, Ph.D., P.E. Li captivated everyone with his presentation on 'Using LiDAR to Understand Driver Behavior during Yellow and Red at Signalized Intersections', shedding light on critical safety insights. ? We had the opportunity to attend a lecture today by Monsur Ahmed, PE, PTOE , former Assistant Engineering Director for the City of Arlington. His insights into traffic engineering, drawn from his experiences in both public and private sectors, were incredibly valuable. Thank you, Dr. Taylor Li, Ph.D., P.E. , for organizing this event. It was a great chance to learn and engage with industry knowledge.

Today, we explored the Action Lab and Smart Lab at UT Arlington with our Student Chapter. It was a fantastic opportunity to witness innovative research firsthand, particularly the driving simulator and VISSIM demonstration. Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible! Thrilled to share the outstanding accomplishments of our transportation program and students at the recent national ITE—A Community of Transportation Professionals conference at Philadelphia! For the first time, six of our students - Peirong Wang , Swastik khadka , Mino Aji, EIT , Md Ashraful Imran, EIT, S.M.ASCE, Sijan Shrestha, Andrew Mares bagged the opportunity to attend this prestigious annual event, showcasing their talents on the national stage under the guidance of Taylor Li, Ph.D., P.E. Our students were also selected as finalists in the highly competitive transportation technology tournament hosted by National Operations Center of Excellence and USDOT Research and Technology. This was also with our sister organization, ITS student chapter- University of Texas Arlington . Adding to these impressive feats, our own President, Swastik khadka, was nominated for the best paper award and also had the honor of presenting his research paper at the conference. This is an incredible recognition of Swastik's academic excellence and innovative thinking. And to top it off, our student chapter, ITE Student Chapter- University of Texas at Arlington received a nomination for the student chapter momentum award, by TexITE – Texas District of ITE highlighting the dedication and impact of our transportation student leaders. These achievements are a true testament to the caliber of our program and the exceptional abilities of our hardworking students. We couldn't be more proud of their remarkable success! We were thrilled to participate in the Research Experiences for Teachers in Engineering (RET) program and contribute to the student panel, represented by Swastik khadka and Md Ashraful Imran, EIT, S.M.ASCE. Our president, Swastik Khadka, and vice president, Ashraful Imran, had insightful conversations with school educators. The objective is to provide high school teachers with a glimpse into the life of engineering students, equipping them to better inspire and recruit students into STEM fields. We're thrilled that our team's Transportation Technology Tournament video is live! As part of the 7th annual competition by USDOT Research and Technology, our students developed an innovative ITS solution to improve intersection safety in the City of Arlington for the U.S. Department of Transportation. We aim to identify high-risk areas and make our roads safer using near-miss detection using INTELLIGENT INFRASTRUCTURE. With the rising Intelligent Infrastructure Economic Zones, it is the need of the hour to use AI-empowered video analytics for preventive traffic crash risk identification.
