This past weekend, ITE at UCLA had the pleasure of hosting the 2025 Student Leadership Summit on the beautiful UCLA campus. We welcomed over 300 transportation students and professionals from across the West Coast to Westwood for an unforgettable three-days of learning, mentorship, and connection. We kicked off the weekend with FIVE amazing field trips! Thank you to City of Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, City of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles Metro, LADOT, and our very own Jacob Lawson and Evan Cho for hosting and leading these amazing excursions. The following day, ITE at UCLA ensured that SLS 2025 attendees had their hunger for both knowledge AND food sufficed by offering attendees the chance to hear from myriad speakers, attend workshops and panels, and consume THREE delicious meals! Wow! That's a lot of nourishment—both physical and mental. The day was punctuated by a MASSIVE career fair that was swiftly followed by a lovely banquet catered by ASUCLA (a UCLA company). We'd like to give a HUGE shout out and thank you to the keynote speaker at our banquet, Tina Backstrom, for taking the time to share her story with us! The final day of the Summit was one of FIERCE competition as we RESURRECTED the concept of the IN PERSON ITE Western District Traffic Bowl! Congratulations to ITE at the University of Washington on your VICTORY at this historic Traffic Bowl! We'd like to thank all of the passionate students and professionals who were able to attend the 2025 Student Leadership Summit! You helped to make this event so memorable and successful! Special thank you to all of our speakers and panelists (in no particular order): Michael Torsiello, Codie Davis, PE, PMP, Mario Garcia-Gillespie, Adonia E. Lugo, Brandon Wilson, PE, MPA, Javier Hernandez, Cathy Leong, Mark Spencer, Julia Brown, James Shahamiri, Cristian Belmudez, Caila Camerino, EIT, Joey Watson, Matthews Cribioli, Winnie Fong, Riley O'Brien, Robert Campbell, Brandon Wong, TE, Matthew Crow, Vyki Englert, Kasey Shuda, Pat Gibson, and Joshua Dungca, EIT!
