    Sales development and the SDR function are always changing. Tactics that worked last year likely not be as effective this year. According to Orum’s State of Sales Report 2024, Pipeline generation came in at the highest cost was the highest at 29%. Makes sense though - acquisition costs aren’t free and it cost money to build out sales orgs, attend conferences and create demand gen. After Pipeline generation, came tech stack (26%) and building prospects lists (19%). There are so many tools and a lot of noise around what is the best out there.     I just hired 4 more SDRs to be able to meet demand for our clients. Cold calling is alive and well. One piece of tech keeping me alive is Itero (not sponsored, I am a paying customer) I'm using this to scale up the coaching effort. We have 27 SDRs on the roster here and there is no possible way for me to listen to everyone's calls every day. But - Itero can. The scorecards give legit constructive feedback and are fully customizable. I just instituted a process where I am requiring each rep to pull 5 scorecards from Itero, listen to themselves, and note the feedback it is giving. On top of that - they have a practice bot. So for each client we take on, I create a persona for the bot to emulate and our reps can practice working through their opener, elevator pitch, open ended questions, and closing to a meeting. THEN You can ask the AI how to improve in a dialog box. It's sick.
