March 27 was a big day in Canada as ISSA Canada members gathered for the ★ Cleaning for a Reason ★ Volunteer Day! This group of giving individuals truly made a difference in the lives of three cancer patients. We have so much gratitude for Facility Plus for hosting our group, providing coffee, donuts and lunch, donating all the supplies to the homeowners and providing a $100 gift card to each of the families. Additionally, their generosity extended to a $1000 donation to the Cleaning for a Reason cause. Thank you also to The Cleaning Authority - Mississauga for providing a crew chief for our cause! We all made a difference on March 27 and the foundation is set for Cleaning for a Reason to reach even more families a battling cancer diagnosis across Canada! ISSA has launched a global initiative to promote safe and sustainable cleaning practices. This effort addresses emerging sustainability requirements and offers resources to help industry professionals navigate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. The initiative has garnered support from over 170 volunteers across 11 countries, forming working groups focused on education, reporting tools, international needs, and strategic planning. Welcome to ISSA’s International Cleaning Week Service Day! International Cleaning Week (ICW) occurs in the last week of March and represents a unique opportunity to celebrate the value of clean, spotlight essential front line cleaning industry professionals, and raise public awareness of what your industry is doing to create healthy environments for workers and customers. This year, ★ Cleaning for a Reason ★ has teamed up with International Cleaning Week to create a Service Day in Chicago and Canada. Cleaning for a Reason provides free home cleaning to patients battling cancer. Since their founding in 2006, Cleaning for a Reason and its partners have provided free home cleaning to 60,000 cancer patients and their families across all 50 states and Canada. These services are valued at more than $20 million. In 2017, Cleaning for a Reason was adopted by ISSA Charities, the charitable arm of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association. Cleaning for a Reason also works with companies and organizations to implement corporate service days, where staff or members volunteer to clean homes, while being led by professional crew chiefs. Today, March 27, around 20 ISSA volunteers, led by crew chiefs from Priehl Cleaning and Chicago Clean Home are coming together for a Volunteer Day in support of this cause. In honor of International Cleaning Week, the event will raise awareness for Cleaning for a Reason, clean the homes of seven cancer patients, and raise funds in support of the mission of clean homes for cancer patients.
